From the heart, Ben Scott-Brandt reflects on his time as program director of the Retreat Center Collaboration.

Holding a mix of regret and gratitude, the members of the RCC stewardship circle are writing to share that our Program Director Ben Scott-Brandt will leave his position on March 1, 2024.

We are delighted to begin connecting retreat centers and allied organizations across the RCC network with Bonner programs, students and alumni around the United States who are passionate about community building, diversity, social justice, spiritual exploration, and wellness.

The Midwest Centers Affinity Group serves as a big-hearted pick-me-up for folks who often feel isolated in their work, and an invitation to celebrate being surrounded by people who understand and share a similar vision and set of challenges.

The RCC Stewardship Circle brings together diverse perspectives to steward the strategy and direction-setting for the Retreat Center Collaboration, and ensures that our work remains aligned with our core values. In July 2023, RCC welcomed Francisco Burgos, executive director at Pendle Hill, to join this team.

The RCC Community Call on June 27th featured a discussion with Editorial Director John Ferro and Chief Digital Content Officer Racquel “Rockie” Joseph of the Omega Institute, where we explored ideas, best practices, and the benefits of crafting your center's online presence.

We are pleased to announce that the Center for Healing and Liberation has expanded its capacity by hiring Brenda Salgado as the new program director for the Racial Healing Initiative.

On this Community Call, we discussed the pain points for retreat center leadership and board—how they’re rising to meet ongoing challenges and embracing intergenerational and intercultural leadership.

On November 8, Amy Burtaine and Michelle C. Johnson led a racial healing workshop on facilitating affinity groups at retreat centers.

As the end of the year approaches, the RCC is looking back on how our community has grown, deepened, and transformed together.

The RCC Community Call on October 25th featured a presentation and Q&A session with marketing consultant Rebecca Churt.

On October 11, the Stewardship Circle gathered with community members to share their stories and discuss their vision for the future of the Retreat Center Collaboration.
