The Heart of Hospitality
Adamah is the largest faith-based environmental organization in North America with a mission to cultivate vibrant Jewish life in deep connection with the earth, catalyzing culture change and systemic change through immersive experiences, Jewish environmental education, leadership development, and climate action.
At Adamah, hospitality is more than a department — it’s a philosophy. It’s the art of welcoming, listening, and creating spaces where every guest feels valued and at home. Guest Services may manage the logistics, but hospitality is the spirit that brings our mission to life.
Hospitality in Action
True hospitality shows up in small, consistent ways — a warm greeting, a patient ear, a thoughtful solution. Every staff member contributes to this culture of care, no matter their role. Our work is not just about service delivery, but about fostering belonging and exceeding expectations.
Measuring What Matters
To grow and improve, we track what we value. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like RevPAR (Revenue per Available Room), RevPAB (Revenue per Available Bed), Bednights, and Net Promoter Scores help retreat centers understand both our financial health and guest satisfaction. These metrics ensure that our hospitality practices are sustainable, balanced, and aligned with our mission.
Practicing HEART
When challenges arise, we lead with empathy. Using the HEART method — Hear, Empathize, Apologize, Respond, and Thank — we transform difficult moments into opportunities for connection. Every conversation is a chance to strengthen trust and demonstrate care.
A Culture of Warmth
Hospitality extends beyond our guests. We show it to one another through respect, clear communication, and attentiveness. Whether through the 10:5 Rule (acknowledge at 10 feet, greet at 5) or side-by-side conversations that maintain a calm, welcoming atmosphere, we model the same warmth we hope our guests experience.
Come Again Soon
Hospitality at Adamah is a daily practice — a blend of mindfulness, service, and heart. Each interaction, whether with guests or colleagues, is an invitation to create belonging and embody the values that define who we are.
